ABOUT HUDSON FOREST
HISTORY
The property now known as Hudson Forest was once a Boy Scout camp. Mr. E.A. Hudson, the owner of a local furniture store, transferred approximately 50 acres of unimproved land to the area council of the Boy Scouts in May 1915 for the purpose of creating a camp. The camp would become known as Camp Hudson. The property was later sold to developers with the stipulation that it be for residential use only and that the developer(s) demonstrate their concern for the natural beauty of the property. The original developer hired foresters to work with architects with the understanding that. “If a mature tree is in the way of a planned road or house—move the road or house.”
AS A RESULT
Hudson Forest is one of the most unique gated communities in Houston, Texas allowing private access to a historical site that is affordable, stable and conveniently located. It offers a lifestyle that combines the privacy of an upscale retreat with the friendliness of a neighborhood. Meandering streets within the property are ideal for walking, jogging and bicycle riding.
LOCATION
Hudson Forest enjoys a near perfect age-mix including young families and retirees. It is within the Spring Branch I.S.D. which is one of Houston’s preferred school systems. A plethora of restaurants, grocery stores and shopping destinations are within a short driving distance as are major thoroughfares, toll roads and highways. The Memorial Hermann Hospital system is just minutes away and Houston’s two major airports are from 30 to 40 minutes away.
